The Property Development Scheme (PDS) is an approved program to facilitate the development and subsequent acquisition of luxury properties by non-citizens in Mauritius. Property developers can take advantage of the PDS to develop luxury villas and exceptional residences that meet the highest international standards, offering quality green spaces, high-end leisure and recreation facilities, and day-to-day management services. By purchasing a residential property worth more than US$375,000, a non-citizen obtains a residence permit for as long as he or she owns the property. Spouses and children under the age of 24 are also granted residency permits.
Non-citizens holding a residence permit under the SDP are exempted from the requirement of an occupation or work permit to invest and work in Mauritius.
